How do I register for Colorado Youth Football Invitational?
CYFI is an invite-only all-star event held once yearly in Colorado for youth football athletes grades 4th through 8th. Nominations open on our website in the fall. If the Nominations tab is on our top website menu, nominations are currently OPEN. After nominations close, invitations are sent out in waves to athletes that are selected to participate in the Invitational. Athletes receiving the email invitations can find the link to register in their email.
What will I need to provide to nominate my athlete?
You will be asked for your athlete’s name, grade, position, size, 40 yd dash time (optional), vertical jump (optional), broad jump (optional), as well as their parent’s name and contact information. You will also be asked for their home football team info and coach info. Finally, you will be asked to submit a link to their Sports Reelz highlight reel. Links to any other platforms will NOT be reviewed.
What is the estimated timeline for nomination/registration for CYFI 2026?
Nominations will be open to Sports Reelz monthly subscribers from October 1 – 10, 2025. Nominations will open to everyone from October 11 – November 1, 2025. Invitations will begin being sent out on November 5, 2025, and the invitation process should be complete by Thanksgiving 2025. Registration closing date TBA. CYFI 2026 will be held March 20-22, 2026.
How much is the registration fee?
The 2026 registration fee is $525.
Is CYFI open to athletes from outside of Colorado?
No – CYFI is only open to Colorado youth football athletes.
Is CYFI only for boys?
Nope! Female athletes are welcome!
What grade do I register for?
Register for the grade that your athlete will be in March 2026.
What is included with registration?
Registration for CYFI includes a uniform (jersey and pants), socks, a swag bag worth close to $250 and a weekend-long event including an NFL-style combine and coaching by various Colorado high school coaching staffs.
What is the refund policy?
No refunds will be given for any reason.
Do I get to pick my jersey number?
Athletes are asked to list their top three jersey numbers at registration and numbers are chosen from those listed once teams are formed. In the case of a conflict on a team, the number will be given to the athlete who was nominated the earliest.
How many kids will be on a team?
Teams are capped at 30 athletes.
Where will practices and games be held?
Practices and games will be held at the CU Boulder indoor practice facility and outdoor fields.
What are the lodging options for out-of-town families?
Colorado Youth Football Invitational will negotiate discounted rates at various Boulder hotels. Stay tuned to our lodging page for more information.
What day should I arrive?
TBA.
When will I receive my uniform?
Uniforms will be distributed at check-in on March 20, 2026.
What size football will be used?
4th Grade – Pee Wee
5th & 6th Grade – Junior
7th Grade – Youth
8th Grade – High School
Will transportation be provided to practices and/or games?
No.
How do I get tickets to watch practices and/or games?
Spectator tickets will go on sale on our website for families only in January 2026! Look for a “Tickets” tab to appear on our menu. Spectator tickets will be open for sale to the public in February 2026.
